Eimear’s CrossFit Legends Discovery

On the 4th March I came across a Facebook post about CrossFit Freesol. My stars must have definitely been aligned that day because not only did it register with me, and not only did I check it out, but I actually followed all that up with booking a discovery session! I mean, seriously, if you know me well, or even at all, you’d know that’s astonishing!Ā

It was obviously meant to be ... like I said, the stars and all that!

I’m now approaching my fourth month of CrossFit Freesol, and what a difference I’m already noticing. Not gonna lie, the first 2 weeks were crippling (hardly surprising, considering how utterly unfit I’ve been following a head on car crash in 2016 and 2 operations for cancer in 2019), but I got fantastic encouragement from my fellow crazies to keep going and how glad I am that I followed that tribal wisdom.

What I’ve noticed in the last few weeks is:

A – Iā€™m not feeling quite as crippled as when I started!
B – Recently I fell over on the pavement and cracked my head open – ok, it wasn’t as bad as it sounds, but there was blood involved; my point here is, I found I was able to get up a lot easier than I would have done 3 months earlier. I think that had I been doing CrossFit Freesol for a year I probably wouldn’t have gone as far as hitting the ground, as my core strength would have kept me more balanced.
Food for thought there, right?
– My husband nearly died of shock when he saw me carrying a big MF of a radiator into the house. Did I mention I’m a (nearly) 64 year old vertically challenged bundle of joy? šŸ˜

So guys, I want to give you all a huge shout out and thank you for accepting me into your wonderful, mad, funny, motivating, and learned tribe. For the first time in 4 years I feel like my life is on a fantastic upward trajectory, and even when I don’t feel like coming in I WILL turn up if only for the boost it will give to my day.

Long Live the CrossFit Freesol Tribe! šŸ‹ļøā€ā™€ļøšŸ’Ŗā¤ļø

(Apologies, not such a ‘little’ review after all, but hey, I’m Irish, why say in a couple of words what can be expressed in a literary monologue!)
